encouragement

Sometimes we think too much in terms of how much impact is this going to make? How do I prioritize my time? What do I do to reach the most number of people in the least amount of time? Time and energy are limited.

Yesterday afternoon we had a class on communion for four of our elementary age children at the church. I am always tired on Sunday afternoon after working full tilt Sunday morning from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. It was Father's Day. I would rather be home relaxing on the couch.

But for one of the boys at the meeting. His enthusiasm was contagious! I think he was as reluctant as I to come to this meeting. He'd rather be watching TV or playing video games. He came, though, and his dad came with him. Toward the end of the class he asked me, "Pastor Anne, can we do this more often?" More than once! "Pastor Anne, I learned so many new words today." "Pastor Anne, can we do this again for a special occasion?"

His words were like an energy shot for me! Encouragement, coming for a winsome ten year old boy. Amen!
